Hundreds of cyclists are expected to take part in the sixth annual Brookline Bicycle Parade along Beacon Street next Sunday. The event, which starts at 1 p.m. in Amory Park, calls attention to the benefits to health and the environment from using bicycles as transportation. There will be a 5-mile loop route for experienced cyclists ages 10 and older, and a shorter loop for younger riders and novices. Roads will be closed to vehicles along the parade route as the cyclists pass. The free and family-friendly event will also feature an ice pop party with DJ Magic Mark at Amory Park. More information is available at www.brooklinebikes.org or by calling 617-730-2088.
