The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously last month to approve a contract with Weston and Sampson Engineers Inc. for a study of the town’s water and sewer system. The $170,000 contract means work can begin on prevention of ground water contamination affecting Bedford’s water lines. The scope of work includes inspection of sewer manholes and sewer mains to test water inflow and infiltration. Partial funding for the contract will come from a Massachusetts Water Resources Authority loan program.
