Globe West: Players of the week, top 10 baseball and softball teams

High 5

P.J. Browne , St. John’s High: The Pioneers needed a sterling start from their junior southpaw and he gave them one, firing a no-hitter, striking out seven, and walking just one to beat St. Peter-Marian, 1-0.

Alissa Karjel , Hopkinton: First she did it at the dish, going 4 for 4 with four RBIs to help beat Dover-Sherborn on Monday, 17-2. Then she did it in the pitching circle, tossing a complete-game shutout to beat Medfield on Tuesday, 3-0. The sophomore moved to 10-1 as a pitcher, to go with her .512 batting average and 19 RBIs.

Alex McLaughlin , Littleton: The junior slugger went 3 for 4, including a two-run homer, to help the top team in the Midland Wachusett League’s Division D beat Maynard last week, 11-4.
