Nominations for the honor of serving as Northborough Applefest’s grand marshal are due by Friday. This fall’s festival, one of the biggest annual events in town, is being held Sept. 20-22. The grand marshal is a resident or local business owner who exemplifies community spirit and volunteerism, and can be an “unsung hero” and behind-the-scenes contributor, or an elected or appointed official. Nomination letters should use no more than 250 words to explain how the candidate meets the criteria. Letters can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or mailed to Applefest Grand Marshal Nominations, c/o Northborough Rotary Club, PO Box 216, Northborough, MA 01532.
