Selectmen on Monday took steps toward finding a replacement for Executive Assistant Paul Blazar, who is retiring on July 4. The board voted to form a nine-member search committee made up of registered Hudson voters, and also voted to put out a request for proposals from consultants to oversee the search. The board’s chairman, Joseph Durant, said selectmen will likely finalize the committee makeup and choose a search firm next month. Although he said he would like to expedite the process, Durant said it could take until the fall to hire a permanent replacement for Blazar. The board will likely name an interim replacement soon, he said.
