New limits on outdoor water use

Seasonal limits on outdoor watering are in effect through Sept. 30. Outside watering is not allowed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and the use of in-ground sprinkler systems is prohibited at all times. Residents at odd-numbered addresses can use hand-held hoses or watering cans before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m. on odd-numbered calendar days; residents at even-numbered addresses can hand water on even-numbered days. Violators will be subject to a $50 fine on the first offense, and $100 for subsequent offenses, and could face a termination of water service for repeated violations. For more information on the conservation measure, call the town’s Department of Public Services at 508-533-3208.
