Police plan memorial to slain officer

The Lincoln Police Association is seeking donations to create a permanent memorial in the lobby of the Public Safety Building to honor Sean A. Collier, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus police officer who was shot and killed while on patrol during the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing. Collier was a special police officer on the Lincoln force from February 2011 to February 2013. Special officers supplement the full-time officers in covering details and special events. Contributions can be sent to the Lincoln Police Association, Attn. Sean Collier Memorial, 169 Lincoln Road, Lincoln, MA 01773. Any excess funds will be forwarded to the Sean Collier Memorial Scholarship Fund at Wilmington High School.
