The School Committee last week said its members have voted unanimously in favor of candidate Joan Wickman as the next superintendent/principal of Carlisle Public School, to replace Joyce Mehaffey, who will retire this summer. Earlier this spring, Mehaffey agreed to extend her contract beyond the end of the school year so her term could overlap with her successor. Wickman is serving as superintendent of Erving School Union No. 28, which serves the communities of Erving, Leverett, New Salem, Shutesbury, and Wendell in Western Massachusetts.
