The Brookline Community Foundation has announced Brookline police Officer Casey Hatchett as the winner of its Unsung Hero Award. The award celebrates community members who work to make Brookline better without calling attention to themselves. Hatchett was honored for her work as the crime analyst for the Police Department and the treasurer of the Jennifer A. Lynch Committee Against Domestic Violence. She is also cochairwoman of the Brookline Commission for Women, coordinates the Brookline Community Emergency Response Team Program, is a Brookline Town Meeting member, and vice president of the Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts. Brookline residents are nominated for the Unsung Hero Award by friends, colleagues, or peers and the winner is selected by a committee of foundation trustees.
