Residents who want to spruce up their properties may scoop up some loam for free at the Department of Public Works complex, 25 Brook St. Hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The supply of screened loam is next to the salt shed. Each resident is limited to taking a cubic yard’s worth of loam.
