The Goodnow Library Foundation is hosting an event at 10:30 a.m. Monday to celebrate the restoration of Sudbury’s Civil War Memorial. The statue of a Union soldier on guard is in front of the library at 21 Concord Road. John Rogers Bradshaw, a descendant of Samuel Rogers, who donated the original statue to the town in 1897, provided funds to restore the statue and will attend the celebration. Bradshaw’s gift also provided for landscaping, lighting, and future upkeep of the monument.
