Old Home Day honors for Findlay, Freeman

At the town’s Old Home Day celebration late last month, longtime residents Marjie Findlay and Geoff Freeman were named Carlisle’s Honored Citizens for 2013. According to presenter Alan Cameron, the award is in recognition of the couple’s longstanding efforts with the town’s Historical Commission and the Carlisle Conservation Foundation, and their work to save and restore local landmarks that might otherwise be razed. In particular, Cameron cited the couple’s purchase and extensive renovation of the Clark Farm property on Concord Street, and their subsequent decision to lease it to two agriculturalists who have turned it into a cooperative farm and community-supported agriculture outlet.
