Mayor appoints new comptroller


Mayor Arthur Vigeant on Monday appointed Brian Doheny to be the city’s comptroller/treasurer, the chief financial position in the municipal government. The appointment is subject to approval by the City Council, which has its next meeting Aug. 26. Doheny has been serving as treasurer/collector in Fitchburg. Tom Abel is retiring as Marlborough’s comptroller/treasurer after 19 years in the position.
