Donations for the city’s Labor Day parade are lagging, and Mayor Arthur Vigeant has put out a call asking for residents and businesses to help fill the gap. Organizers are also trying to raise revenue through charging a $50 fee for vendors setting up booths at the event. “The Marlborough Labor Day Parade is one of our city’s longstanding traditions and a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together to celebrate,” Vigeant said in an announcement on his request for support. “I believe that with the Parade Committee’s new idea and the continuous generosity of local businesses, our city will see another exciting and great Labor Day.” The parade begins at noon on Sept. 2.
