Vacancy on town’s Youth Commission

The Board of Selectmen is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the town’s Youth Commission, which focuses on local youth and family issues. The commission consists of eight members appointed by various town departments and officials, including the School Committee, the school system’s superintendent, the Police Department, parks and recreation officials, the town moderator, and the Finance Committee, as well as the selectmen. Youth Commission meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month. The position to be filled by the board will run from Oct. 1 through June 30, 2015, when the seat will become a three-year appointment. Candidates must be registered to vote in Needham.
