The community’s first farmers market is scheduled to open Aug. 24 in the Town Hall parking lot, with 10 vendors from area farms selling vegetables, baked goods, honey, and other locally produced items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Board of Selectmen gave the plan its approval last week after a presentation by David Morganelli, a member of the Finance Committee who has led the efforts of an ad hoc committee to set up the weekly operation. “This will not be a flea market,” Morganelli told selectmen. “It will feature food products, with the centerpiece being vegetables in season.” The market is scheduled to run every Saturday through September.
