North Hill to build new facility

Officials from North Hill , an age-65-and-over retirement community on Central Avenue that also provides health care and activities for seniors, recently announced plans for a new independent-living facility that would be built with the help of $93.6 million in tax-exempt bonds issued by the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency. The company will use the money to replace its 72-bed nursing facility with the new residential building, as well as renovate other independent living units, dining areas, and the facility’s entrance. Established in 1979, North Hill originally had 341 independent living units and the nursing facility, and has added an agency to care for residents in their homes.
