A public meeting to discuss the town’s proposal to acquire the former Westborough State Hospital property will convene at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the high school’s auditorium. The Board of Selectmen voted last week to support the $2.2 million purchase, after nearly two years of negotiations with the state for the 95-acre property off Lyman Street . The proposal will go before Town Meeting in October. Background information about the property and the town’s plans for it has been posted on the municipal website, www.town.westborough.ma.us.
