Residents can get a detailed look inside local government during the town’s fifth annual citizens’ academy this fall. The 10-session academy will run from Sept. 12 through the end of November, with tours of town facilities, hands-on activities, and meetings with top local officials, from the town’s Finance Department to police and public schools. The academy is free, but enrollment is limited. Classes are held Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; the final session will be on a Monday night, with a graduation ceremony during the Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Nov. 25. To register, contact Melissa Jones in the town manager’s office at 781-862-0500, ext. 209, or via e-mail at mjones@lexingtonma.gov .
