Board to discuss medical pot bylaw

The fall Special Town Meeting on Oct. 7 may decide how proposals to establish a medical marijuana dispensary will be handled. The Planning Board has drafted a warrant article for an amendment to the zoning bylaws that would limit the facilities to the town’s industrial park district. It would also set rules covering signs for the businesses, and the minimum distance from residences and schools. To view the proposed zoning amendment, check www.southboroughtown.com . The Planning Board has scheduled a discussion on the proposal during its public meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Town House’s McAuliffe Hearing Room, 17 Common St.
