New time limits for school administrators

The Berlin-Boylston Regional School District’s superintendent, Nadine Ekstrom, says a new state mandate that requires administrators to spend much more time in classrooms this fall means there will be less time for administrators to meet with parents on a casual, drop-in basis at the district’s offices. Meeting with administrators will now require an appointment, she noted in an announcement posted on the district’s website, The requirement is part of the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s new educator evaluation system, which calls for administrators to be in classrooms making observations and providing feedback, Ekstrom wrote in her announcement.
