Groundbreaking for new high school

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Ayer Shirley Regional High School building project will be Sept. 19 at noon. The $56.6 million project, which is being reimbursed up to 70 percent by the Massachusetts School Building Authority, was approved by voters last November. Construction has already started; next week’s event will provide a formal ceremony for state officials, high school students, faculty and staff, and officials from both towns. To view the latest progress on the renovation and replacement project, visit www.asrhs.blogspot.com. For more information on the ceremony, call the school district office at 978-772-8600.
