State Senator Mike Barrett has received 2,598 phone calls, e-mails, letters, and Facebook posts from constituents since taking office about eight months ago, the Lexington Democrat recently announced. Top concerns among residents of the Third Middlesex District have been online privacy, an expanded bottle bill, increased funding for early education, and increased funding for transportation. The overall count is of all communications received beginning Jan. 2, the day he was sworn in, through the end of the Legislature’s August recess. Barrett’s district comprises Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Lincoln, Waltham, Weston, and parts of Lexington and Sudbury.
