The town’s Youth Services Department is accepting nominations for its Patrick C. Forde Good Person Memorial Award, which recognizes a local adult who helps make the community a better place to live through his or her volunteer work. The organization is looking for nominations of someone “of high character” who has contributed in some significant way to Needham children, youth, and families. Nominations will be accepted through Nov. 1. The award is named for Patrick Forde, a Needham resident who was actively involved in the community and supported Youth Services. Forde passed away in 2005, and The organization established the award shortly after Forde’s death in 2005, and named its first recipient in 2007. For more information or to submit a nomination, call 781-455-7500, ext. 265, or visit www.needhamma.gov/youth/fordeaward.
