Town seeks water for testing

The town’s Department of Public Works is seeking volunteers living in houses built from 1982 through 1987 to provide samples of water drawn in the morning. The samples, taken approximately once of year, will be analyzed to determine whether the water complies with national safety standards, particularly for lead and copper levels, according to a posting on the town’s website, www.ayer.ma.us. Some of the houses constructed during the time period include developments on Patricia Drive, Samantha Lane, Madigan Lane and Mulberry Circle. To sign up as a volunteer or to inquire about the project, call the DPW at 978-772-8240.
