Firefighters to hold weekend muster

Town firefighters are holding their first fire muster over the holiday weekend, from Saturday through Columbus Day, at the Crackerbarrel Fairgrounds on Emerald Street. The muster featuring teams from area fire departments will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, and the day’s events will include family games and rides, an all-day barbecue, and a campfire at 8 p.m. Next Sunday, a 5-kilometer obstacle run will step off at 8 a.m., and an antique car and firetruck show will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. At 4 p.m., the New England Patriots game will be projected on the drive-in screen. On the Monday holiday, a motorcycle poker run with stops at five area fire stations will start at 9 a.m., and a pig roast with live music will happen from noon to 3 p.m. For a complete schedule and information on fees, visit www.crackerbarrelfiremuster.com.
