Stephen Cottens, a lawyer representing applicants for medical marijuana dispensary licenses, said an exploratory a meeting with the Planning Board went smoothly last month, but plans for any medical marijuana facility in town are on hold, due to limited space to site such an establishment. The only place in town that could accommodate a business of that type and is zoned appropriately is on Main Street, and it’s unclear whether the owners would be willing to lease the space. Cottens, of Needham, said he represents 30 clients who are running into impasses; business or industrial property owners are often wary of the idea of a medical marijuana outlet.
