The view from inside WBCN’s rise and fall

Author and longtime Boston disc jockey Carter Alan will talk about his new book, “Radio Free Boston: The Rise and Fall of WBCN,” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in Arlington High School’s media center. Alan will appear as part of Arlington Community Education’s fall speaker series. A disc jockey at WBCN from 1979 to 1998, Alan will be discussing its 41-year run as a progressive rock station that broadcast its last song over the radio waves in August 2009.
