Auditions for variety show start tonight

The Norfolk Lions Club is holding the first of three auditions for its Young Performers Variety Show at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Norfolk Public Library. The show is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at King Philip Regional Middle School on King Street. The auditions are open to youths ages 8 to 18, in groups or individually, from any area town; the next sessions will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday and next Sunday at the library, 139 Main St. Participants are asked to register in advance online at www.youngperformersvarietyshow.com, and bring a signed permission slip to their scheduled audition. The performers will be competing for prizes of $50, $100, and $200; proceeds from the event will benefit the town’s Cultural Council.
