Help plan senior center’s future


The Board of Selectmen recently established a Senior Center Study Committee to evaluate the options for the relocation or renovation of the town’s facility for its older residents. The committee will study the likely future program and space needs of the senior center, and evaluate the relative feasibility of renovating the current center, leasing space, or building a new center on town or privately owned land. The committee will include a selectman, a Council on Aging member, Council on Aging director Sharon Mecurio, Municipal Properties Department director Dean Charter, and five residents. Residents interested in serving should fill out an application form online at www.acton-ma.gov, and submit it to the town manager’s office, 472 Main St., Acton, MA 01720 or e-mail it to manager@acton-ma.gov.
