Lake Whitehall cleanup on Oct. 26

The Friends of Whitehall will holds its annual lake and trail cleanup Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Those interested in helping should meet at the boat landing at Whitehall State Park on Wood Street (Route 135). The goal will be to pick up trash and debris from the trails and shoreline around Lake Whitehall, and clean some roadsides near the lake. Bug spray, gloves, trash bags, tools, and water will be provided for the work day. Coffee, hot chocolate, and doughnuts will also be available before the work begins, and more refreshments will be available after the clean-up. The Friends of Whitehall is a nonprofit group of volunteers working to preserve, protect, and improve Lake Whitehall and its surrounding area.
