Panel receives requests for funds

The town’s Community Preservation Committee has received nine applications for potential funding at Town Meeting next spring. Most of the proposals involved open space and recreation projects, with requests for funds for land acquisition; restoration of the town-owned Rogers property; work on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail; renovation of playing fields at Concord-Carlisle High School; and infrastructure and accessibility improvements on the new play structure at Concord Children’s Center. The committee also received two applications for affordable housing projects, and applications for historic preservation efforts at Heywood Meadow and the Old Manse.
