After East Boston’s stunning rejection last week of a proposed gambling resort at Suffolk Downs, all eyes will turn to Milford on Nov. 19 as voters decide whether they want a casino in their town. If most say yes to plans by Foxwoods Massachusetts for a $1 billion complex next to Interstate 495, a Special Town Meeting on Dec. 9 would be asked to rezone the site, a decision that requires a two-thirds majority. Foxwoods is vying for the region’s single resort casino license, against an Everett proposal and perhaps a redrawn Suffolk Downs plan in Revere. Meanwhile, the state Gaming Commission has slated a hearing Wednesday to see whether Foxwoods is suitable to hold a casino license; its final decision is due in the spring.
