A number of area swimmers will be in contention to medal at Sunday’s state meet at Harvard University:
►Maddie Biron, Framingham: The junior, who owns the school record in the 50-yard freestyle (24.72), enters the Division 1 meet as the top qualifier in the 100 and second in the 50.
►Jessica Crowley, Acton-Boxborough Regional: The senior was the top qualifier in the 100-yard breaststroke, and finished 2 seconds off the leader in the 200 intermediate medley.
►Peggy Flanagan, Acton-Boxborough: The freshman had the third-best qualifying time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.11).
►Logan Gallagher, Newton North: Just a freshman, she was 2 seconds off the pace of the top seed in the 100-yard backstroke.
►Alyssa Grant, Framingham: The senior was 2/10ths of a second off the leader in qualifying for the 100 backstroke (1:10.38).
►Ali Lie, Framingham : The junior was one of two swimmers to break the minute mark in the 100-yard butterfly (59.29).
►Kathryn Santaniello, Needham: The senior was one of three Rockets to qualify for the 100 butterfly.
►Alyssa Seales, Framingham: The senior diver came as close to beating her teammate, Maura Sticco-Ivins, as she ever has at the South sectional meet.
►Tiffany Shao, Acton-Boxborough: The junior finished third in qualifying, joining with Crowley to give the Colonials two chances at a first-place finish.
►Maura Sticco-Ivins, Framingham: The senior All-American diver has not lost in two years.
