Despite lawsuit, senior center work continues

A lawsuit filed by opponents of placing a new senior center in Ward Park will not impede construction at the site, according to Mayor Arthur Vigeant’s office. A lawyer representing neighbors of the park filed a complaint in Woburn Superior Court on Dec. 27 that challenged the city’s right to develop the park property. Michael Berry, executive aide to the mayor, said the city is preparing a response, but work at the site is continuing in the meantime. The $6.5 million senior center is scheduled to be finished by the end of this year.
