Thirty-eight projects credited to CPA

Stow was one of the original adopters of the state’s Community Preservation Act in 2001, and the local program has had quite an impact on the town, based on the 38 local projects it has underwritten with the proceeds from an annual property tax surcharge and state matching funds. The total comprises nine affordable housing developments, 12 open space purchases, nine historic property preservation ventures, and eight recreation projects. More information about the Community Preservation Act can be found at www.communitypreservation.org.
