Hearing on bridge replacement project

The state Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing on the replacement of a bridge on South Main Street near Elm Street on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Center’s Arcand Meeting Room. The hearing will review and solicit feedback on the proposal to demolish the bridge over the abandoned railroad right of way and replace it with a culvert to accommodate a future shared-use path along the railbed. The proposal also includes road work along Route 126, such as paving and resurfacing, as well as sidewalk reconstruction. Written comments on the project can be mailed to Patricia A. Leavenworth, chief engineer, MassDOT, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116, Attn: Bridge Project Management, Project File No. 605895, and must be postmarked within 10 days of the hearing.
