Waltham

Join coffee chats to discuss downtown

The Downtown Waltham Partnership will be hosting monthly coffee chats for anyone with an interest in or issue with the city’s center. Members of the community business group are encouraging residents to bring up questions, concerns and ideas relating to the area near Moody and Main streets, often referred to as Waltham’s downtown. The first event will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Café on the Common, at 677 Main St. The group recently has been lobbying the city to relax certain ordinances to benefit downtown businesses, such as allowing delicatessans and bakeries, which were prohibited as “fast food” establishments, as well as allowing protruding signs above storefronts. They have also been pushing to help beautify the downtown. For more information, visit the organization’s website, www.downtownwaltham.org.
