Program offers help to quit smoking

A free program to help smokers quit the habit is starting Feb. 22 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. The program runs for eight consecutive Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. through April 12 in the third-floor conference room in the hospital’s Allen Riddle Building. The program offers a “caring and encouraging group format” and specific strategies for working toward the goal of living tobacco-free, according to the hospital’s website.
