Women’s commission plans child-care forum

The town’s Commission for Women is hosting a forum this week on the benefits, challenges and different types of day-care options for young children. The free event will focus on families with children from newborns to 5 years old, and will be held Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Public Library of Brookline’s Hunneman Hall at 361 Washington St. Representatives from the town’s early education program, local health officials, and police will discuss safety, proper licensing for day-care establishments and background checks.
