Celtic celebration at library March 5

The Hopkinton Public Library is hosting “Celebrating Ireland in Story and Song” by Mary King, Phil Edmonds and Mike McFischman at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The musicians and storytellers will embrace Irish history and culture through their performance. Edmonds, from Killaloe in Country Clare, Ireland, plays the tin whistle and button accordion. King, whose parents are from Ireland, plays Celtic harp and the fiddle, and tells stories about her relatives who lived off the land. McFischman has been playing folk music for 40 years, and is a guitar, banjo and bouzouki player. For more information about the event, contact Susan Marshall at the library at 508-497-9777 or by e-mail at smarshall@hopkintonma.gov.
