Residents are invited to attend a public planning charrette this upcoming Saturday, April 12, for the purpose of discussing plans for the former Westborough State Hospital site. The charrette - a planning forum that uses professional facilitators to have an open conversation with all stakeholders in a proposed project - will focus on how the town can move forward with the redevelopment of the property. The town has engaged Dr. John Mullin, President of Mullin Associates and Associate Director of the Center for Economic Development at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a professor in landscape architecture and regional planning development as well, and former Dean of the graduate school. This charrette will be a daylong event - beginning at 9 a.m. and running until about 2 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Those interested in participating should RSVP via email to charrette@town.westborough.ma.us or call the Selectmen’s office at 508-366-3030.
