New walkway to link trail, Moody Street

City officials recently announced that the state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation will soon start constructing a walkway and boardwalk under the Elm Street bridge to connect the scenic Charles River Greenway with Moody Street on the north bank of the river. The new walkway will help pedestrians and bicyclists using the multiuse recreational trail reach downtown businesses, as well as provide a healthy transportation option for residents, according to the city’s announcement. The construction is part of a larger state project to link walking and biking trails along the Charles River that connect Boston with area suburbs.
