A group opposing the construction of a senior center in Ward Park won’t appeal the dismissal of its lawsuit against the city trying to block the project. After mulling their options after last month’s ruling by a Superior Court judge, the residents decided not to pursue further legal action, according to a statement issued last week. The 22,000-square-foot senior center and related facilities will take up 2.2 acres of the 7.6-acre park. The residents now plan to seek an ordinance to protect the remainder of the park from development, the statement said.
