The Ashland Public Library’s documentary film and discussion series is focusing on food- and health-related topics throughout the summer. In the next installment, at 7 p.m. Thursday, “Digestion Made Easy’’ features Dr. Michael Klaper describing how the digestive system works and offering tips on how to keep it functioning properly. On July 22, the emphasis is on creating quick, nutritional meals; on Aug. 14, the documentary looks at how to treat and reverse heart disease; on Aug. 26, the movie provides instructions for shopping for healthful food at the grocery store. Moderated discussions will follow each session in the free series, which is held on the community room at the library, 66 Front St. For more information, call the library at 508-881-0134 or visit www.friendsoftheapl.com.
