CELEBRATING ISRAEL Combined Jewish Philanthropies and the Israeli American Council are hosting a celebration of Jewish and Israeli culture featuring music, art, dance, fun, food, and community next Sunday, May 31, in Waltham. The daylong festival, “Celebrate Israel: Boston,” includes two stages of internationally known musical talent, children’s performers, interactive art projects and activities for everyone, as well as food provided by kosher caterers and, for those age 21 or older, a wine and beer café featuring Israeli and kosher beverages.

“This is to be a day of joy,” said Gil Preuss, executive vice president of Combined Jewish Philanthropies. “Celebrating Israel is a way to bring thousands of people together. We hope to see people from Boston’s Russian Jewish community, the Israeli Jewish community, people who have and have not visited Israel, families, seniors, young adults. It is a time for all of us to be together as a community.”
