Hopkinton planning for natural disaster

Hopkinton is planning for disaster by updating its guidelines for dealing with natural hazards such as floods, hurricanes, blizzards, earthquakes, and wildfires. The town’s Emergency Management Team is hosting a presentation by Sam Cleaves, senior regional planner with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, and a follow-up discussion on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 5 p.m. in Town Hall for interested residents. The group is working with Cleaves to update its hazard mitigation plan and reduce the community’s vulnerability. More information is available by calling Cleaves at 617-933-0748.
