The town of Concord is implementing paid parking on Main Street between Sudbury Road and Thoreau Street by creating PayByPhone zones. PayByPhone will be the only method of payment for parking in the on-street parking spaces in this area of Main Street. Hours for paid parking begin at 8 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. The cost per hour is 50 cents, or $5 for all day. There is no limit on the length of time for parking in this area of Main Street. The PayByPhone zones on Main Street will go into effect on Monday, Aug. 28. The town is also extending the PayByPhone option for drivers parking at meters in the Concord Center, Thoreau Depot, and West Concord villages, which will be available by Sept. 8. PayByPhone has a mobile app, but users can also register online at paybyphone.com to pay in advance from a home computer.
