Man hits lottery for $30,000 after winning $10,000

A Johnston man has won $30,000 on an instant lottery ticket, two months after he brought home $10,000 in a different instant game. Rhode Island lottery officials said the man claimed his winnings Monday with a ticket purchased from the Shop N Go on Greenville Avenue in Johnston. That is where he bought the other winning ticket, too. The man said he is not sure where his luck is coming from. He planned to put the money in the bank, where he stashed his earlier winnings. Residents from Newport and Smithfield each hit the Powerball jackpot this year, for $336.4 million and $60 million in winnings.
