2003 grant application

The academy used Leslie Berlowitz's embellished resume and bio in a 2003 application seeking funding from the National Endowment of the Humanities. The application includes Berlowitz's cover letter and signatures, showing she personally handled the request.

2010 grant application

The academy continued to use Berlowitz's inflated resume in a grant application in 2010 to the National Endowment of the Humanities. The NEH wound up giving the institute $300,000 in response to that request.

Berlowitz also mentioned her non-existent doctorate in an obituary prepared by her staff in the event of her death. It also mentions a job title NYU said she never held.

Job posting

An employment ad for the academy repeatedly referred to Leslie Berlowitz as Dr., further conveying the impression that she earned a doctorate degree.

NYU records

New York University has no record of Leslie Berlowitz receiving a doctorate degree. Employment records also show she never held one job title listed on her resume and inflated the number of years she held another.
